How far in advance do brides book your services for their wedding day?
Looking to secure your perfect date? Typically, summer and fall dates book 6-12 months in advance, while other months usually fill up within 4-9 months. We recommend booking as soon as you have your venue and confirmed date. However, don’t hesitate to reach out for last-minute availability; we often have openings just a month or two out!
How many hours of coverage do I need?
Our top package includes 6 hours of coverage, which is typically ideal for most. During this time, we will capture your getting ready moments, formal portraits, cherished heirlooms, family photos, the ceremony, and the reception. If your wedding is particularly large or there’s a travel time between the ceremony and reception venues, we recommend adding an extra hour or two to ensure every special moment is captured. This extension is only available for our 6-hour package.
Do I need a first look?
First Looks have quickly become a cherished bridal tradition, offering much more than just a moment for the couple to see each other before the ceremony. This special time allows bride and groom to connect and enjoy a quiet moment amidst the wedding day's excitement.
Many couples find that without a First Look, they miss precious time together until the reception begins! Not only do couples cherish these moments, but the stunning photographs captured during a First Look are often their favorites.
Additionally, this approach enables us to efficiently complete all bridal party and family portraits, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable day for everyone involved.
Are you available for travel or destination weddings?
Yes!! We are excited to travel anywhere you need us, having successfully hosted weddings in Minnesota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, and North Dakota. The Black Hills, with their breathtaking scenery and stunning backdrops, are among our favorite venues. Whether you’re a local or planning a destination wedding, we offer customized packages for any wedding that requires travel and overnight stays. Let’s make your dream wedding a reality!
Do your packages include digital images?
Absolutely. All of our packages include high-resolution digital images and a print release stating that you can make copies for personal use.
Who will be my photographer & do your packages offer a second shooter?
Linda is your main photographer, all packages include two photographers (sometimes three) and a signed print release for your convenience. While a second shooter isn't mandatory, we highly recommend it for capturing different angles and ensuring that every precious moment is documented. If you're hosting a larger wedding or have a unique venue layout, there will more than likely be three photographers so that the day runs smoothly without missing a beat.
Can I meet with you in person before I book with you?
Of course! We LOVE meeting with our brides (and grooms if they want to come) for a complimentary consultation or a phone call if you prefer. We are happy to walk you through a typical wedding day timeline & answer any questions you may have. Since I still work FT as a 911 dispatcher sometimes a video chat or phone call work better for initial contact.
How many images will I receive?
The honest answer is that it varies! In all the years we have been doing this I have never quoted a certain number of images nor is it in my contract because each wedding is unique & there are so many variables that play into your big day it's hard to determine a set amount. We do shoot in rapid sequence because people have a tendency to "close" their eyes or be looking elsewhere so hopefully after going thru 5-6 of the same images I actually have one where everyone looks great! If I had to say I would estimate it's roughly 100-125 images per hour and you receive all edited images. If that's "truly" something you need to know, let's talk and see what we can come up with to put your mind at ease.
Do you offer videography services?
We do! Videography is included with our "Best Day Ever" Package and includes an 9-10 minute video of everything during your big day, sometimes longer. You may add videography services to any of our packages for $800 but it will be a 4-5 minute video. I also create a special gift for all of our couples which incorporates music that you used as well as photos and some short video snippets put into a video slideshow.
Do I need a personal attendant or is a Maid of Honor enough?
Having a personal attendant at your wedding can truly make a difference, even though it's not a necessity. This person usually knows both families and can assist photographers in locating specific individuals for those important shots. Additionally, they help organize group photos and keep the day running smoothly. If you have enough family and friends to choose from, I highly recommend having a personal attendant—you won’t regret it!!!
Do you travel with backup equipment?
We always come prepared with extra equipment, including cameras, lenses, and memory cards, to ensure every moment is captured perfectly. We closely monitor the weather for outdoor ceremonies and are ready with umbrellas if needed. While heavy rain or hail
may cause some delays, we prioritize the safety of our equipment and team. For instance, during a ceremony in Spearfish Canyon, we patiently waited out two hail storms, resulting in a brief 20-minute delay, but rest assured, we won’t let mother nature ruin your
special moments!
Is my deposit refundable?
Your wedding photography deposit is non-refundable. However, we understand that extenuating circumstances may arise, and we will consider those on a case-by-case basis Your satisfaction is important to us, and we aim to provide a fair solution when possible.
